With the support of FranklinCovey Parktone Primary is focused on how we as educators can create leaders, one child at a time. The Leader in Me initiative based on Stephen Covey’s 7 Habits of Highly Effective People, is being embedded across all subject areas, and now demonstrated and taught daily.
Leader in Me in action at Parktone at the Passion Project Expo. The Passion Project Expo was a highlight for our Parktone community! It was a fantastic way for our leaders to use Habit 8 - Find Your Voice, and share their passions.
Students in Years 3 to 6 were invited to participate in the 2023 Maths Challenge. This is a problem-solving activity organised by the Australian Maths Trust (AMT), which is aimed at stimulating our high achievers in Mathematics.
Students across years 4-6 met up with author Ingrid Laguna on zoom to improve their writing skills. We learnt so many new tips about how to write like a pro and it was such an amazing experience.
In 2021 the Tutor Learning Initiative (TLI) was introduced to support students whose learning had been disrupted as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. Funding is provided by the government to employ tutors who work to deliver targeted small group learning support to students who need it most.
Two years in the making, our brand new, state of the art library was officially opened on May 19, 2023. Attended by the State Parliament member for Mordialloc, Tim Richardson, Tandem Design Studio architects and the Parktone leadership team, and Education Improvement Leader, Anna-Marie Yelland.
