Lighthouse Team in Action

The Lighthouse Team (formerly the Beacon Team) has evolved this year as we establish how to best represent student voice at Parktone and shine a light on issues that matter most to our students. In Term 1, students from Years 3 to 6 submitted applications to join the team and represent their peers. Their first undertaking was to update the bell music, collecting and collating song suggestions from students across the school to ensure everyone’s voice was heard and represented.

Biggest Morning Tea

Earlier in the term, students hosted a Biggest Morning Tea fundraiser in support of the Cancer Council. We would like to thank our generous school community for your donations and support of the stall. Thanks to your kindness, Parktone raised over $700 for this worthy cause—more than double the amount raised last year!

Parktone’s Big Freeze

Over the past few weeks, the team has turned its attention to organising our Big Freeze fundraiser in support of FightMND. From convincing teachers to volunteer for the challenge to building excitement among students, the Lighthouse Team has worked tirelessly to make the event a success. These fundraising efforts are guided by our school values and demonstrate the power of synergy and teamwork. By working together towards a common goal, our students are learning that we can achieve far more collectively than we ever could individually.
There is more to come in the second half of 2026 as we look to examine and improve Parktone’s sustainability efforts with the Green Team and continue to identify and act on issues of importance to our stundents. Thanks so much for supporting out students to find their voices and highlight issues that matter to them.
